TYGERBERG ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The AGM will be followed by the evening meeting.
African penguins undergo “catastrophic” moult, whereby they replace all their feathers simultaneously. During this 3-4 week period they are landbound and lose close to half their body mass. Birdlife South Africa has been tracking penguins during these sensitive periods to see where they go to fatten up and replenish their lost reserves. The results show to what extreme extent some birds go to find precious fish.
